If you’re looking for a simple project, it’s this DIY easy Happy Birthday table topper.
Birthday planning can often feel overwhelming or like a competition. But it doesn’t have to. Just a few small touches can go a long way. If you read my Birthday Banner post, you know that I really LOVE birthdays.
I have learned that it doesn’t take much to make the celebration feel like you put a lot of effort into it (even if you didn’t.)
For this decoration, I made it easy for you with free files at the end of this post. Simply print on cardstock and cut.

Happy Birthday Table Topper Supplies
- Free file (found at the end of this post)
- White Cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue or Mod Podge (and a paint brush or glue brush)
- String or ribbon
- Craft stick
Wall Decoration
You can use this file in a few different ways. You can print it and cut out the circle and use it was a wall decoration.(Or print several and put them on several walls.)
Hanging Decoration
Print out two copies. Glue them together with a string or ribbon. Hang it from the ceiling.
Happy Birthday Table Topper
And, the main idea of this post, make a table topper. Print 4 copies on cardstock. Fold in half.
Spread glue or Mod Podge on half and stick it to another half.
I like to use a brush to paint my Mod Podge on so I get a consistently thin layer.
You can do this with just two copies, but I like the dimensional look of 4.
When you are gluing, make sure to glue in a craft stick or dowel in the center so you have a way to anchor it in a base.
Table Topper Jar
For my base, I grabbed an old jar (I have a rather large collection of old glass jars that I save from the kitchen) and filled it with stones to weigh it down and to give my craft stick a place to nest. (You can use sand or pebbles. Anything that will give it a little heft.)
I cut a strip of paper the width of my jar and wrapper it around and glued it. I had dotted paper which tied into my confetti theme.
Like our Birthday Banner, you can embellish this with glitter or jewels or anything that will take it up a notch.
