amazon prime for craftersI’ve been an Amazon Prime member for years. I admit that when I first heard about it, it seemed like a just another thing to spend money on. But Amazon Prime is a lazy crafter’s dream!
I’m a bit of a procrastinator. I think it goes hand in hand with the lazy crafting part of me. Luckily for me, Amazon Prime has thousands of items that qualify for free two-day shipping (and one-day or same-day in certain areas!)
I’ll be honest; Amazon Prime (and every shipping service) has sometimes been a struggle for me. I try to be sustainable when I can. But Amazon Prime is so quick and easy that it has my sustainability senses beat. I just do my best to reuse the boxes in craft projects or kid crafts and when I can’t I take them to the cardboard recycling center.

Easy Craft Shopping

Amazon Prime means I’m not spending hours running errands from store to store looking for the exact right thing. I can lay in bed and shop. I can shop at the breakfast table.
It also means I can quickly and easily comparison shop. And I can read the hundreds and sometimes thousands of reviews to find out if a product really is the right fit for my craft project.

Subscribe and Save

Amazon Subscribe and Save is a game changer. Certain items are available for subscription at a discounted price. You choose how often you need the item from two weeks up to six months.
I use the subscription feature for craft items. Food items. Printer cartridges. I even use it for my fridge water filter! It means I never forget to change it because I have it set to every six months and right when it shows up is about the time I need to change it. So handy!

Prime Perks

Some of the other perks of being a Prime member is:

  • Free same-day delivery in eligible zip codes.
  • Whole Foods Market savings
  • Whole Foods delivery in eligible zip codes
  • Prime Music
  • Prime Video
  • Prime Reading
  • Prime Wardrobe
  • Unlimited Photo Storage
  • And even more things that I haven’t explored.

But the single biggest benefit for this lazy crafter is being able to click Buy and have the item show up in two days. It also means I can shop for gifts and have them delivered to family and friends with two-day shipping. It’s a procrastinator’s dream!
Did I mention that as a Prime member you don’t need a minimum purchase to get free shipping? That means when you need just one bottle of mod podge and nothing else, you can buy it and have it show up in two days for free!

Amazon Prime Day

Prime members get access to certain deals including Prime Day which is coming October 13-14, 2020! (It usually takes place in July, but all-things-Corona pushed it back.)
If you’re interested in shopping the fantastic deals of Prime Day, you must be a member. Sign up here then check out my Amazon Prime Day Deals which I will keep up-to-date throughout Prime Day.
Happy (lazy) shopping!
